rhCT-1

Lyophilized. Recombinant, human cardiotrophin-1 expressed in E. coli. A cytokine with structural similarities to interleukin-6. Promotes the survival of neonatal cardiomyocytes via the activation of an anti-apoptotic signaling pathway requiring MAP kinases. Induces a distinct hypertrophic response to endothelin-1 in cultured neonatal cardiomyocytes. Also induces heat shock protein accumulation in cultured cardiac cells and protects them from stressful stimuli. Biological activity: ED50: ≤1 ng/ml as measured by the ability of CT-1 to induce proliferation of TF-1 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Purity: ≥99% by HPLC; ≥99% by SDS-PAGE.
