An ubiquitous enzyme that catalyzes the cis-trans-isomerization of X-Pro peptide bonds. Binds to proteins and acts as a chaperone in protein folding. Incorporates into HIV-1 virons and is believed to be essential for viral infectivity. Cyclophilin binds to the immunosuppressant Cyclosporin A (Cat. No. 239835).
