Peptidylproline cis-trans-Isomerase Liquid. In 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.8. Recombiant, human cyclophilin A expressed in E. coli. An ubiquitous enzyme that catalyzes the cis-trans-isomerization of X-Pro peptide bonds. Binds to proteins and acts as a chaperone in protein folding. Incorporates into HIV-1 virons and is believed to be essential for viral infectivity. Cyclophilin binds to the immunosuppressant Cyclosporin A (Cat. No. 239835). This complex then binds calcineurin (PP2B) and inhibits its phosphatase activity. Purity: ≥90% by SDS-PAGE. EC 5.2.1.8, CAS 95076-93-0. Ref.: Fruman, D.A., et al. 1994. FASEB J. 8, 391.
