Endostatin is a ~20 kDa C-terminal fragment of collagen XVIII that acts as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis and tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. It causes the arrest of endothelial cells in the G1 phase. Induces apoptosis in HUVE and MHVE cell lines by possibly reducing the levels of Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL proteins.
