Liquid. In 100 mM NaCl, 50 mM Tris-HCl, 15 mM reduced glutathione, 5 mM DTT, 20% glycerol, pH 8.0. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, human Flt-3 fused at the N-terminus to a GST-His₆-thrombin cleavage site sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. Flt-3 belongs to the class III receptor tyrosine kinase family that is closely related to c-Kit and c-Fms. It is expressed in primitive hematopoietic cells and its ligand exerts proliferative effects on these cells in vitro in cooperation with other cytokines. Flt-3 is also expressed in the placenta, testis, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, brain and in cerebellar Purkinje cells. Specific activity: ≥28 U/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to transfer 1 nmol phosphate to Poly(Glu,Tyr)_4:1 per min at 30°C, using variable concentrations of ATP (0.1-12.6 µM).
