rhIL-3 Lyophilized. Carrier-free. Recombinant, human interleukin-3 expressed in E. coli. Stimulates the production and differentiation of macrophages, neutrophils, basophils, mast cells, and eosinophils. As a hematopoietic colony-stimulating factor, IL-3 interacts with very early multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells. IL-3 supports colony formation in soft agar of bone marrow cells of the granulocyte, macrophage, megakaryocyte, and erythrocyte lineages. IL-3 is reported to suppress the secretion of IL-12 and shift dendritic cells from the Th1 to Th2 phenotype. Biological activity: ED50 = 100-250 pg/ml as measured in a cell proliferation assay with a human, IL-3 -dependent cell line.. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Contaminants: Endotoxin: ≤100 pg/mg IL-3.
