rhIL-8

Lyophilized. Recombinant, human interleukin-8 expressed in E. coli. A potent proinflammatory cytokine produced by monocytes, fibroblasts, and keratinocytes in response to stimulation by LPS, IL-1, or TNF-a, and by T lymphocytes in response to PHA stimulation. Induces adhesion of neutrophils to endothelial cells. A physiological initiator of chemotactic migration of leukocytes. May be involved in chronic inflammation. IL-8 acts as an angiogenic factor in human gastric carcinoma. Biological activity: ED50 = 150-300 ng/ml as measured by induction of myeloperoxidase release from human neutrophils. Purity: ≥97% by SDS-PAGE. Contaminants: Endotoxin: ≤100 EU/µg IL-8.
