rhIL-12 Lyophilized. Lyophilized from sterile-filtered PBS, 50 µg BSA/µg IL-12. Recombinant, human interleukin-12 expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. Pleiotropic cytokine that is produced by monocytes/macrophages, B cells, and connective tissue-type mast cells. Also known as natural killer cell stimulatory factor and cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor. A potent inducer of IFN-g production and T cell differentiation and function. Biological activity: ED50 = 50-200 pg/ml as measured by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of PHA-activated human lymphoblasts. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Contaminants: Endotoxin: ≤1.0 EU/µg IL-12. Ref.: Kang, K., et al. 1996. J. Immunol. 156, 1402. Riemann, H., et al. 1996. J. Immunol. 156, 1799. Brunda, M.J., et al. 1994. J. Leukoc. Biol. 55, 280.
