Hepatitis C Virus NS3/4A Protease, Recombinant, E. coli. Liquid. In 500 mM KCl, 20 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM DTT, 0.2 mM EDTA, 20% glycerol, pH 8.0. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, human HCV NS3/4A protease expressed in E. coli and purified by affinity chromatography using FPLC. HCV is a positive, single-stranded RNA virus of the Flaviviridae family that encodes a polyprotein precursor of about 3,000 amino acids. It is a common cause of chronic liver disease. HCV NS3/4A is an essential enzyme for viral replication. It is believed that HCV NS3/4A protease could play an important role in a treatment of hepatitis C infection. Biological activity: 20-200 ng is sufficient for an in vitro protease assay. One unit is defined as 1 ng of purified protein. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Ref.: De Francesco, R., et al. 2003.
