MAPK2 Liquid. In 150 mM NaCl, 25 mM HEPES, 5 mM b-mercaptoethanol, 10% glycerol, pH 7.4. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Recombinant, rat MAP Kinase 2 fused to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. Highly active form of MAP kinase that is produced by phosphorylating non-activated MAP Kinase (Cat. No. 454852) in vitro with a constitutively active MEK mutant. Suitable for labeling MAP kinase substrates. Also useful for inhibitor screening and microinjection. Specific activity: ≥600,000 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will phosphorylate 1.0 pmol myelin basic protein or PHAS-I substrate per min at 30°C, pH 7.5. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE.
