Recombinant, human pro-MT1-MMP (amino acids 1-501) fused at the C-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli as a periplasmic protein. Activated MT1-MMP degrades fibrillar collagen Types I, II, and III, as well as other extracellular matrix proteins. It activates MMP-2 and MMP-13 resulting in enhanced proteolysis of the matrix for cell migration and proliferation. Must be activated prior to use in enzymatic assays. Purity: ≥80% by SDS-PAGE.
