Acetylneuraminyl Hydrolase Sialidase Liquid. In 25 mM NaCl, 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5. DO NOT FREEZE. Recombinant, Clostridium perfringens a2-3,6-Neuraminidase expressed in E. coli. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of non-reducing terminal a2,3 and a2,6 unbranched sialic acid residues from complex carbohydrates and glycoproteins. This enzyme does not exhibit activity on a2,8 or branched sialic acids. Activity: ≥10 units/ml. Specific activity: ≥250 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will catalyze the release of 1 µmol of methylumbelliferone from 2′-(4-Methylumbelliferyl)-a-D-N-acetylneuraminic Acid (Cat. No. 474495) per min at 37°C, pH 5.0. Contaminants: N-acetylglucosaminidase, a-fucosidase, a- and b-galactosidase, a- and b-mannosidase, proteases: none detected. Recommended reaction buffer: 50 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 6.0. EC 3.2.1.18, RTECS QQ3450000, CAS 9001-67-6. Note: 1 mU = 1 milliunit. Ref.: Prime, S., et al. 1996. J. Chromatogr. A. 720, 263.
